Welcome to NLLInsider.com
Well here we are: welcome to NLLInsider.com, Inside Lacrosse’s new full-service NLL and boxla website — the Internet’s only site dedicated to indoor and box lacrosse.
I’ll keep this short and sweet since we have a hungry, talented team of editors and Insiders ready to blow you away with content this season, but I did want to provide a quick overview of what this site’s all about.
First off, this came about pretty naturally. The NLL’s passionate fan base grows every year. So too does the traffic on InsideLacrosse.com — and the passionate fan base of NCAA and American high school lacrosse. To try to satisfy everyone on one site just became impossible. And so, NLLInsider.com was born.
Fueling this site will be the game’s most talented group of editors and Insiders. We tapped a host of experienced indoor lacrosse journalists to maintain this thing: Bob Chavez from my hometown Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and Paul Tutka, formerly of LAX MAG and a longtime contributor to Inside Lacrosse, were the first guys I contacted. They’ll lead a team of editors that’ll be giving you everything from a weekly Top 20 players report, Rookie Rankings, rumors, game previews, an NLL Dance Team pick ’em contest, photo galleries, video, fantasy advice and Fight Club ratings.
That’s part of what I can tell you will be on the site every week. The other part is up to the players and coaches of the NLL. We’ve compiled a list that includes players like Brodie Merrill, Lewis Ratcliff, Jim Moss, Geoff Snider and Frank Resetarits and coaches like Chris Hall, Brian Silcott, Tom Ryan and Paul Stewart. These guys, and the rest of our Insiders, will be posting every week. What they write about is largely up to them, so all I can say is be sure to check out the site every day to find out what’s up.
During the first few weeks before the NLL starts up in earnest Jan. 11, we’ll be using InsideLacrosse.com to drive traffic to NLLInsider.com. But after that we’ll take the training wheels off and let ’er go. The goal is for NLL Insider to be a self-sustaining site, your one-stop spot for all NLL and boxla related news (we absolutely will be covering Jr. A and Sr. A boxla in the summer). In addition to our own original content, we have links to outside newspapers, stats, team sites, Wingszone.com and NLL.com. If you’re a fan of indoor and box lacrosse, this site will fulfill all your needs.
If you have any questions, email me. Let’s also get some chatter going on Wingszone.com, a recent purchase by Inside Lacrosse. This is the Internet’s best group of NLL and boxla fans, and our goal is to cultivate it and make it bigger and better for everyone.
We’ve got tons of ideas and high hopes for this thing, but since Jim Moss told me the preliminary email I sent to our Insiders was the longest he’s ever seen, I’ll cut this thing off here. We’re all fired up for the season to start, and we’re committed to providing you guys with the best NLL and boxla coverage this sport’s ever seen.
One more thing: We do a ton of NLL coverage in Inside Lacrosse Magazine — John Grant was on our December cover (his third) and Casey Powell is on our January cover (which is in the mail). If you’re not a subscriber, you should be.
