NLL suspends Clark indefinitely

NLL Insider has learned from sources close to the NLL Head Offices that the league has in fact suspended Toronto Head Coach Glenn Clark for an incident stemming from an altercation between Clark and Minnesota Swarm forward Sean Pollock.

Clark has been suspended indefinitely.

Sources say that the league has completed their investigation and will be making an official announcement later this afternoon.

The Toronto Rock coach has been alleged to have punched Pollock after a verbal altercation arose in the hallways leading to both team’s dressing rooms at the Air Canada Centre. The Swarm had just won a penalty filled game in OT, 17-16, and tensions had been high throughout the game.

Sources had previously told NLL Insider that Pollock, who had been ejected from the game earlier that night, had made comments about the Swarm’s win, which upset Clark.

From there it is alleged that Clark took exception to the remarks, walked over to the Minnesota player and punched him twice in the face. Sources say that Pollock did not retaliate.

Clark has also been charged by Metro Toronto Police for the incident and will appear in court February 25 to face assault charges.

Sources say that Pollock will not face any type of discipline in regards to this incident and will be able to play in the Swarm’s next contest on Saturday, January 26, against the Rochester Knighthawks.

It is expected that Rock assistant coach, Terry Bullen, will be the team’s interim head coach for the time being. The Rock are in Edmonton on Saturday night to face the Rush at Rexell Place.

UPDATE: The NLL has officially announced the suspension.
