She’s a Midwest farmer’s daughter

It’s women like Natalie that the Beach Boys penned that famous song of theirs.

The NLL’s Girl of the Week will most likely dance to any music, Beach Boys or not. Since she’s been dancing since the age of 2 while growing up on a vegetable farm outside of St. Paul, Minn., it makes perfect sense that Natalie grew up to be part of the Swarm Performance Team. Don’t make the mistake of thinking she’s a typical country bumpkin, though.

She was a top-notch gymnast in high school and that no doubt helped her dancing skill, which along the way helped her earn a tap dancing gig next to the legendary Gregory Hines, earn a Steps Dance scholarship in New York, be part of the Minnesota Vikings cheerleading squad and was part of a dance team for the 1992 Super Bowl at the Metrodome. Yet beneath all that sophisticated big-city stuff, she’s tough. How many women do you know grew up playing pond hockey with three brothers? So cool.

She taught junior high school art for a while before opening her own studio and today, she’s in the merchandising department for a local furniture company. Check out her NLL bio page.
