Shanny’s Power Rankings: Week 9

Week 9

Just when you think you have things figured out you have a weekend like this. I thought Rochester had everything straightened out - they don’t. After Friday’s loss to Portland I was about to drop Calgary and they come up with a huge victory yesterday. The power rankings can only show so much. For example it doesn’t really show that Philadelphia has strengthened its hold on the number one position after their dominant victory over Minnesota. It also doesn’t show that many teams are virtually tied and teams like New York and Portland are so much better today than a few weeks ago. Rochester looked unimpressive again but until Toronto can beat them its very difficult to drop them below the Rock.

1 (1)

Philadelphia Wings
5-0
Another dominant 4th quarter as they outscored Minnesota 11-1.

2 (2)

Minnesota Swarm
6-2
Two losses in a row. They still have 5 home games and 4 games vs. Chicago.

3 (3)

Colorado Mammoth
5-2
Missing some players in loss to Calgary - but join the club -that’s why road games are tougher.

4 (5)

Buffalo Bandits
5-4
Bandits will be sitting pretty when injured players start returning.

5 (4)

Rochester Knighthawks
3-4
Ok I don’t have this team figured out. Loss at home to the Titans further proof that they can’t find last year’s magic.

6 (6)

Toronto Rock
4-3
Weekend off. They’re hoping Calgary’s not back in form for next week’s match.

7 (7)

San Jose Stealth
4-3

Quietly moving up. A victory over Mammoth, next week, would tie them for first.

8 (8)

Calgary Roughnecks
3-5
Finally a gutsy effort that pays off over Colorado. Final score (12-9) flattered the losers.

9 (9)

New York Titans
4-4
Three wins in a row against divisional opponents. Casey Powell 2nd in league in points.

10 (10)

Portland Lumberjax
3-5
Starting to look like a team that can do damage.

11 (11)

Chicago Shamrox
1-5
The only East team that is not showing any life.

12 (12)

Edmonton Rush
0-6
Tough job for Coach Hamley as he has 10 games to try to try get these guys as playoff birth.
