Super Saturday in the ROC

So, not too often is there an opportunity to cover the entire spectrum of lacrosse on one day, but tomorrow represents just that opportunity.

Here is how a lot of the members of the Krew that are not in Chicago already are spending the day.

11:30 a.m.: Strap on the gear that is still frozen from being in the trunk since last week, aka Pre-Game Perk-up.

Noon: Hit the floor with the rest of the Krewhawks and enjoy what brings us all together, watching those of us with more experience teaching the new players how to play the game and hopefully not finding out what effect cold has on titanium or aluminum shafts.  Break a nice sweat and work up an appetite and thirst for what comes next.

1 p.m.: Head over to Rookie’s Sports Bar and Grill to join the Krew members who are watching the Face-Off Classic on ESPNU.  We’ll watch the second half of the ‘Cuse-Virginia game and maybe the Princeton-JHU Game while rehydrating and devouring their world-famous sliders.

7 p.m.: Regroup down at the Stock Exchange in downtown Rochester to get to experience the Knighthawks taking on the Shamrox at 8 p.m.  Every road game, we all get together to listen to the game and John, the owner of the Stock Exchange, fires up the grill line for Stock plates, wings, the entire menu and opens the bar to wash it all down.  Now mind you, the Stock Exchange is normally not open on the weekends. Can you say the Stock Exchange is the new lacrosse restaurant in town?  Oh yeah.

So, as Marv Levy used to say: “Where else would you rather be, than right here, right now?”

No other place I’d rather be to play, watch and experience lacrosse all day than Super Saturday in the ROC.

To the Krew reading this in Chicago:  They’re calling the game tomorrow Code Green, but I think we all know it’s going to be Code Teal by the final whistle.  Be Loud, be Proud and most of all, shake hands after the game and share a wobbly pop at the Post-game party.
