Bucktooth nears return in Buffalo

More than one person believes the Buffalo Bandits are playing the best lacrosse of the NLL these days, and it might get even better.

One of the injuries that was supposed to have a devastating impact on the Bandits is nearly healed and the Bandits no doubt will welcome Brett Bucktooth back to the floor with open arms. Despite not having Bucktooth, along with injuries to Sean Greenhalgh and Kevin Dostie among others, the Bandits have played lights out and are just one game out of first place in the East thanks for a four-game win streak that includes impressive wins over Philly and Minnesota. Bucktooth injured his hip over the summer and needed surgery in January to fix what was pretty much bone-to-bone contact. He practiced with with the Bandits for the first time last week.

“Just to be able to do some sprinting and running and shooting … it’s good just to be back on the floor,” he said on the Bandits Web site.

Bucktooth says he could be back on March 22, just after the All-Star break.
