NLL Girls: Natalie vs. Chantal

Three weeks into this NLL Girls of the Week matchup and we’d guess you guys had nothing better to do than gawk at photos and vote. Lucky for us, we’re right. Then again, we don’t really have better things to do either, especially during the week when we’re just waiting for the next game.
That said, San Jose’s Megan is the latest beneficiary of our wasted time and warped minds, moving on in the tournament after outpolling Colorado’s Angela by a solid margin, 87-68. We still think you can do a better job (do we sound like your old coach, or what?) and get your co-workers to vote. Better yet, don’t forget that after you vote at work, you can run home and vote again on your personal computer. Rest assured, we won’t be pulling any of that political stuff and calling for a recount or whining about hanging chads, whatever the hell those are. And knowing the minds of some of you freaks out there, it’s probably best that we don’t ask for your explanation.
So move on to Week 4, where Minnesota’s Natalie, a former hockey-playing vegetable farmer, takes on Chantal of Toronto, who looks like she could star in an episode of Desperate Housewives. Is that show still even on? Either way, vote now, vote again later but do it now, because this poll closes on Friday at midnight.

Natalie’s got the Bud Lite tights working for most of the pics you’ll see on her NLL profile page, but that’s cool with us. It’s not like she’s a rookie dancer. She’s been around. Not that way, pervert. Yeah, she did what’s probably the thing to do for Minnesota people, growing up on a vegetable farm and playing pond hockey with her brothers, but she had her goal to be a dancer and did that, even working with the acclaimed (and late) Gregory Hines at one point. You saw him in that dance movie, right? The one where they, um, uh … yeah. They dance. I didn’t see it either. No matter. We’ve heard about the dude and he could cut it up, so you gotta think he’s not just gonna take any ol’ dancer that walks in.
Throw into the mix that she was part of the Minnesota Vikings cheer squad back in 2000, and the Swarm have themselves a dancer who knows the ropes and how to sell it. Ya know, we pick on Natalie and these women in the tournament, but Natalie’s definitely done one of the cooler things of all contestants to date. An artist, she painted a Snoopy sculpture in St. Paul, where the city apparently has a few Peanuts characters around town. Remember when Peanuts was cool? Me either.

Chantal’s in her second year with the rock and the first thing we notice in her picture here is … brown? When did the Rock bring in brown as a color? What’s that? You didn’t notice? Good boy. That means you were looking somewhere else. Chantal danced with the team back in 2002, but took some time off to pursue interests and holds down her own as a business development representative for a natural gas company. Not too shabby! On her NLL profile page, she tells she came back to the team because dance is addictive but if you’re like us, we don’t really care why she came back. We’re just glad she’s back, along with her pictures.
On the Rock’s Web site, Chantal thinks it’s a bad thing to admit to us she hasn’t seen most Disney movies but we’ll cut her some slack. It probably takes a while for Disney to translate movies into Canadian. You ever notice that about Canadian the language? They spell a lot of words wrong. Favourite. Colours. Weird, and don’t get us started on the way they talk, like when they need more ohh-ffense and stuff like that. We should probably cut out the teasing, though, considering Insider has seen plenty of Ontario license plates on this side of the border as a ton of Canadians make their way down here to shop since the American dollar is so weak these days. But, we digress. Take a look at Chantal, try to figure out what personality her character might have on Desperate Housewives, and then cast your vote accordingly. Eh.
