NLL spotlight finds Bandits’ White

The defensive guys know their role doesn’t come with all the glitz and glamour of the fellas who score the goals. Ask any casual lax fan about the National Lacrosse League, and they’ll tell you something about John Grant or John Tavares or Gary and Paul Gait. Mention defense and you’re gonna get a blank stare.

Know what, though? The D guys are cool with that. For the most part, they know that the people who know lax really know what’s up with D and knowing that is honor enough for the D guys. Make sense? If you’re still spinnin’, just check out this Buffalo News story about defenseman Chris White, whose late selection to the All-Star game absolutely thrilled his Bandits teammates.

“Those guys don’t quite get the limelight that they deserve,” Bandits teammate Mark Steenhuis said. “It’s nice to see it shine on them once in a while.”

Coaches and teammates aren’t the only ones taking notice of White. Apparently, there’s a MrsChrisWhite#6 at WingsZone.com who’s got White’s back.
