Rock ready for busy NLL weekend

You’d have gotten a hearty chuckle just a few weeks back if you told someone the Edmonton Rush would be standing in the way of the Toronto Rock’s pursuit of a National Lacrosse League playoff berth. At 0-6, the Rush were hardly imposing.
Ask the Rochester Knighthawks how imposing the Rush are.
That’s how much has changed in the NLL and the Toronto Rock aren’t about to take the Rush lightly tonight, not after Edmonton’s surprising OT win over the Knighthawks last week. It’s the first of two games for Toronto this weekend, who host the Rush tonight then bus down to Buffalo for a key matchup with the Bandits Saturday night. The Rush may be 2-6, but they’ve won two straight and the 7-4 Bandits are on a four-game win streak. So at 5-4 and holding on to the fourth and final playoff spot in the East, the Rock aren’t about to coast.
“Every team in this league can win on any given night, so there’s no sure wins. You don’t pencil anything in ahead of time,” Rock coach Glenn Clark told the Toronto Star.
