There’s been plenty of competition for the NLL’s upset of the week these past few days, but I think we have to hand it to the Chicago Shamrox for their last-minute victory over the Rochester Knighthawks 12-11. The Shamrox scored seven goals in the fourth quarter to erase a three goal Rochester lead.

Jonas Derks scored four goals, one of which was the game winner, while Cody Jacobs added three goals and two assists and Jason Clark chipped in with five helpers. Matt Roik stopped 45 of 56 and held the Knighthawks scoreless for the final five minutes while Jacobs and Derks scored the tying goal and the go-ahead. This was Chicago’s second win on the season. John grant had four goals and three assists for the Knighthawks.

The Toronto Rock pulled off a weekend sweep to sneak into third place in the east, last night defeating the Buffalo Bandits 13-9. The Bandits have now dropped to fourth.

Aaron Wilson led the Rock with four goals and three assists, while Josh Sanderson and Ryan Benesch added six points apiece. Bob Watson stopped 35 of 42. Two of the Bandits goals came against back-up tender Mike Poulin. For the Bandits, Cory Bomberry had two goals and two assists, while John Tavares had one and three.
