On Saturday night in the National Lacrosse League the New York Titans did what they’ve been doing all season, pulling off a surprising yet convincing win, this time over the first-place Philadelphia Wings 20-13.

New York picked up the lead in the second quarter and grew it steadily from there, stopping a third quarter comeback attempt by the Wings at three goals. The Titans’ Casey Powell erupted for 11 points on four goals and seven assists, while Ryan Boyle and rookie Jordan Hall each chipped in with seven points and Pat Maddalena added six. Matt Vinc stopped 37 of 50.

The Wings were led by Geoff Snider with six points and Athan Iannucci with five. The Wings will look to bounce back against the struggling Rochester Knighthawks next weekend.
