Shanny’s Power Rankings: Week 13
What a weekend!! I’ve come to expect one or possibly two upsets a week but I can’t remember a weekend like this.
I’m not even thinking about the Portland victory over Colorado. Be honest. Did you really think that a tired Toronto Rock team could beat a rested Bandits team? Maybe Toronto’s victory over Edmonton was just too easy. Rochester loses their second game in a week against a team with only one victory. I’m not shocked that the Titans beat the Wings - but 20-13, are you kidding?
This is one of the most difficult weeks for Power Rankings. Just look at the East. Obviously Philly, and Buffalo lose some luster. Toronto and New York have earned the right to be called contenders and Rochester – well they’re just falling off the face off the earth. Get your daggers out now – there’s going to be a lot of name calling over this week’s rankings.
1 (6) |
New York Titans 6-5 Why not? They are the hottest team in NLL with a 5 and 1 record in last 6. They’ll have to win in Minnesota if they want to stay here. |
2 (2) |
Philadelphia Wings 7-2 I almost put the Wings back to number one but I couldn’t stomach that after another big loss. Goals against are 2nd worst in the league. |
3 (3) |
Minnesota Swarm 7-3 Weekend off. They won’t be taking Chicago for granted next week. |
4 (8) |
Toronto Rock 7-4 A perfect weekend. Best defensive record in the NLL. Next up Rochester and Philly in two weeks. |
5 (1) |
Buffalo Bandits 7-5 Bandits must wish the Rock didn’t exist. Swept by Toronto for the second year in a row. |
6 (5) |
San Jose Stealth 6-4 2-2 at home but best road record in NLL. Next two in Edmonton and Portland. |
7 (4) |
Colorado Mammoth 6-4 Lost 4 of last 5. Schedule not getting any easier. Rochester and Buffalo next after a weekend off. |
8 (7) |
Rochester Knighthawks 4-6 Heads are going to roll. Will it be coaches or players? |
9 (9) |
Calgary Roughnecks 4-8 A couple of questionable penalties the difference this weekend. Aspirations for home playoff date are gone. |
10 (11) |
Portland Lumberjax 4-7 Will be a tough team to face in a one game playoff. |
11 (10) |
Edmonton Rush 2-7 Time is running out. Will likely have to sweep Calgary for a chance at playoffs. |
12 (12) |
Chicago Shamrox 2-7 Saturday’s victory in Rochester was the most fun they’ve had all year. Its nice to be a spoiler. |
