Colorado Mammoth deal for vet sniper Chris Gill

NLL Insider has learned from sources that the Colorado Mammoth have pulled the switch on a deal that lands them Edmonton Rush and former Mammoth forward, Chris Gill.
The trade will see Gill and Edmonton’s second round pick in the 2008 Entry Draft going to the Rush for the Mammoth’sĀ first round pick during the same draft year.
Gill had played for Colorado during the 2006 season, one which many considered a major comeback type season for the former Champion’s Cup winner.
Gill also had one of his best statistical seasons last year in Edmonton, but sources close to the Rush have told NLL Insider that Gill fell out of favor with the team after Bob Hamley was brought into the fold earlier this year.
The move gives Colorado a bit more stability on their left side and also a player that had a lot of on-floor chemistry with Dan Carey during his rookie year in 2006.
TheĀ trade obviously gives Edmonton an opportunity to pickup a high profile first rounder in the upcoming Entry Draft this year, on top of the first rounder they picked up in 2009 from Portland yesterday afternoon.
