NLL Insider has learned that the Buffalo Bandits and Edmonton Rush finalized a deal just prior to today’s trade deadline that will see forwards Mike Accursi and Dan Teat switching teams.

Sources say that Teat, along with Buffalo’s first rounder in 2009 and their second round pick in 2008, are being shipped to Edmonton for Accursi.

The move gives Edmonton additional first and second round picks over the next two seasons, after grabbing a number of other picks today and in previous weeks. Although this year’s draft year is considered pretty average, 2009’s draft should be one of the most top heavy entry drafts the league has seen in recent years.

The Rush also signed free agent defender Andrew Martin, who last played with the San Jose Stealth in 2006, while also inking Chris McKay to a deal this year.

McKay was expected to miss the entire season due to work commitments but has apparently been swayed by his former coach in Arizona, Bob Hamley, to put in some minutes with the Rush for the remainder of the 2008 season.

McKay was a Dispersal Draft pickup during this past off-season.
