Just when we thought you geeks couldn’t do any better, you go out and prove us wrong. We’re not sure if that’s a good thing for you, or us.

Two weeks ago, ya’ll nearly broke the voting machine with 1,423 votes in our National Lacrosse League Girls of the Week Matchup No. 5. So whaddya do for Matchup No. 6? You go out and cast even MORE votes. Just a few more votes, but still, the 1,449 votes cast that sent Caelee to a 753-696 win over Erin is an impressive total. So, we can’t figure out if you guys have earned our respect or mockery, but it’s probably pretty close to the same thing anyway.

This week, we’ve got Ashley of the Chicago Shamrox going up against Brooke of the San Jose Stealth. Will Ashley have as much game as the Shammies have had recently? Or will Brooke come out of nowhere (you know a ”stealth” joke had to be in here somewhere) and move on to the second round? Cast your vote today, ’cause we’re shuttin’ down this poll Friday at midnight.

Now as we go on to No. 7, we’ve got to note that we’re gonna have an odd number of matchups for the season. With three weeks left in the NLL’s regular season, we’ll have one more bracket pairing to fill out, leaving the final NLL Girl of the Week as the lucky recipient of an automatic bye into the second round.

Brooke grew up in New Jersey around the game of lacrosse, so she’s no stranger to the excitement.

She’s said she moved out West for a change of scenery and if there’s any place to get a change, California is definitely it. No doubt, she’s improved the scenery herself out West. Looking at some of the pics on her Spy Girl profile page, she’s got the Stealth look down with a nifty pair of sunglasses. Take off the sunglasses and the jacket, though, and wow … makes ya wonder how in the world New Jersey pizza can be her favorite! Unless she’s one of those people who soaks up the grease with a napkin or peels of the cheese, or … nevermind.  We won’t question the results. We’ll just admire them.

Today, Brooke’s a student at San Jose State and works part-time as an operations manager for Workplace Health Solutions. So be sure to take a gander over at her NLL profile page and see what’s up. There are some more pics and the whole social networking thing is goin’ on, with friends and comments. So while you’re at work, on your free time, mosey on over and see if you can make a new friend.

You remember Ashley, right? Of course you do.

She’s the one who harbors the dream of being a Playboy bunny. She said as much on her Shamrox profile page. Now, normally, we’d think that right there would be enough to end any contest. Kinda like an empty-netter with 2 seconds left that gives her a 2-goal lead. But, in the interest of fairness, we’ll take a deeper look at this very talented dancer for the Shamrox because, as we know, that’s the important thing, right? When Ashley was named NLL Girl of the Week back on March 24, she told us she was “one of the busiest people you’ll ever meet.” If her NLL profile page is any indication, we can’t doubt that. She’s got 2 pages of pics and a bunch of “friends,” and they’re not all her dancing teammates. Ashley’s got friends all over the place and from all walks of life, which makes us think she’s a real social butterfly and what better personality is there to be a Playboy bunny? Not that we’re telling Hugh how to do his job, but … OK. Yes we are.

So right after you’re finished with your voting for this contest, go ahead and rip off a letter to Hugh and let him know of Ashley, your “friend” and ours. Who are we to stand in the way of Ashley’s dreams?
