Shanny’s Power Rankings: Week 15

shannys-power-rankings-week-15

Only three weeks left and there is still so much to be determined in the National Lacrosse League playoff race.

Edmonton’s future looks a lot better than it did a few weeks ago. Despite the 8-5 record and last night’s victory there must be concerns in Philadelphia. I don’t ever remember a team with the league’s worst goals-against average ever doing well in the playoffs.

Every team in the league should be cheering against Knighthawks. Statistically they are strong in every part of the game and if they make it to the post-season they will be the most dangerous team.

As for the Power Rankings, sorry New York, you had your chance. Just ask Rochester how quickly you can move from the Penthouse to the outhouse.

1 (5)

Buffalo Bandits
8-5
5-2 last 7 games, both losses to Toronto.

2 (3)

Minnesota Swarm
8-4
Tough win at home against New York.

3 (2)

Philadelphia
8-4
7-0 at home but dismal 1-4 on road.

4 (6)

Colorado Mammoth
7-5
Split against Rochester and Buffalo, not a bad weekend.

5 (1)

New York Titans
6-6
They had their chance at the top. Playoff chance in sight with 3 more home games.

6 (4)

Toronto Rock
7-6
Two losses this weekend. Need to beat Chicago this weekend.

7 (7)

San Jose Stealth
7-6
Split weekend with Portland. They miss big shot of Wiles.

8 (8)

Rochester Knighthawks
6-7
Looked good in split games with Colorado and Toronto. Will likely have to win last three games to make playoffs. Buffalo next.

9 (11)

Edmonton Rush
4-7
Have now put the gun to Calgary’s head.

10 (10)

Portland Lumberjax
5-8
Huge victory Sunday in San Jose.

11 (12)

Chicago Shamrox
4-7
Playoff run is too late but three consecutive wins has made it interesting.

12 (9)

Calgary Roughnecks
4-9
Will kiss playoffs goodbye if they don’t beat Edmonton on Saturday.
