NLL Girls: Danielle vs. Sabrina
OK, so we’re a little late getting the weekly contest out this time around. Get over it. These things happen and that old maxim of being late is better than never being at all is gonna apply here.

So what’s up as we head into Matchup No. 8? Well, not much. We pretty much had our first official rout last week, with Ashley rolling to a 171-20 win over Brooke. Not even close. Of note, too, is the considerable number of voters who took the week off. We had well over 1,400 votes cast in the last two matchups, so come on, voters! What’s going on with that? Don’t even try the sorry excuse of being busy. Then again, there’s been some decent weather as of late so if any excuse is gonna hold weight around here, it’s that ya’ll were outside catching up on yardwork.
So we’ll let it slide this time, but let’s get our game back on for this week, as Rochester’s Danielle takes on Sabrina of Toronto. It’s a good matchup between two teams that are big lacrosse rivals, so why not extend that to the dance teams?
NLL Girl of the Week Matchup 8

- Danielle (38%, 40 Votes)

So get your vote on and get it on today. We’re extending the voting deadline to Sunday at midnight since we’re a little late this week so don’t delay as we come down the home stretch. There’s just a few more first-round matchups before the second round kicks in and we’ll get to revisit some familiar faces.
Danielle arrived in Rochester by way of the Bronx, but you remember her, right? She’s the one working on a doctorate’s in Immunology at the University of Rochester.

Of course you remember her. How can you forget she’s the one with the GPA and not the GAA, but still loves The Cosby Show. And who doesn’t? Thank God there’s Nick-At-Nite to give us re-runs of that comedy classic and the never-ending debate between Cosby’s sweaters and Theo’s shirts, which we touched upon earlier. Danielle makes no bones about her love of dancing on her Knightingales page, but she’s also got some lofty goals when it comes to career and family. Gotta admire that, for sure, but for now her focus is on school and doing what she can to pump up the Knighthawks faithful as they make that precarious run for the playoffs.
Who knows how long she’s gonna stay in Rochester. With such lofty pursuits, she could end up doing her Bio Medical research anywhere in the country, so you’d be wise to get out and see her while ya can. And if that’s not possible, well, we’re doing our part by offering these sweet visual aids. You’re welcome.

Sabrina’s lovin’ life as part of the Toronto Rock crew, and she and her girls are in much the same boat as Danielle and the Knighthawks. They’re pushin’ for a team that’s got some tense moments workin’ as they fight for their playoff lives.
It’s all part of the fun for Sabrina, the 5th-year member of this squad in Toronto. Fun? What fun? Well, besides having the dance stuff as an outlet for all her self-admitted energy, she says she absolutely loves being on stage and in front of all those people. The floor of the Air Canada Centre suits that desire just fine. The other thing she shares in common with her opponent this week is the pursuit of science. Sabrina’s already got her degree in kinesiology with the ultimate goal of being an occupational therapist. So yeah, we’ve got some smart ones in the running this week … maybe this should be an election for president of MENSA instead of some NLL hottie of the week contest.
Hmmmm. On second thought, we’re gonna stick with the hotties. We’ll leave the smart stuff to Danielle and Sabrina and leave the staring and gawking to people who are more qualified: namely, us.
