Titans are Buffalo Bound

Well, here we go again. The New York Titans will play the biggest game in franchise history yet again this Saturday night in Buffalo. The chance to win an Eastern Conference Championship in year two is something we are very proud of but everyone in the organization knows there is work to be done.
Buffalo is a great team that will have home field advantage with a loud HSBC crowd. The Titans have the utmost respect for the Bandits franchise and in no way do we plan on giving them any bulletin board material — I know I won’t in this article — which may be boring but that’s the way things should be.
Anyway, I want to take the time to give a huge pat on the back to the Titans coaching staff in this article. Head Coach Adam Mueller, along with assistant coaches Paul Deniken, Blaine Harrison and Paul Stewart have this team completely buying into their system and run a classy team. I can tell you from first-hand experience Adam Mueller should be Coach of the Year in the NLL.
I know the votes are being tallied and sometimes things don’t always turn out the way you expect for end-of-season awards but I am telling you right now: ADAM MUELLER IS THE COACH OF THE YEAR in the National Lacrosse League. The best part about Adam is that he would be the first to tell you that his whole staff deserves the award.
As for the game this past weekend, the boys were stellar in the second half after a very tight first half. And to win on the road in front of 11,000 plus is always exciting. As usual, there were contributions from everyone on the roster but big time players step up in big time games and Casey Powell did just that on Saturday night. Four goals for CP, including 2 back breakers in the fourth quarter. There is noone in the lacrosse world that could argue against this guy’s talent. He is a first class player and more importantly a first class person.
Back on the road this weekend, where I am sure we will be playing in front of a sellout in Buffalo. The players have been road warriors all season so I think playing in front of hostile crowds is not necessarily a bad thing for the Titans. See you all next week. GO TITANS.
