Here’s your 2008 NLL All-Pro team
Record-breaker? Check. Brick wall? Check. Wily veteran? Check.

Yup, the National Lacrosse League’s 2008 All-Pro team includes all of the above, and a little bit more. Athan Iannucci of the Philadelphia Wings broke from the gate at a blistering scoring pace and maintained all season. The result was 71 goals, which broke the single-season record previously held by Gary Gait. Not too shabby. Toronto’s Bob Watson, who last week was named the league’s goalie of the year, pulled in his sixth All-Pro selection. And Buffalo’s John Tavares, who finished seventh in overall league scoring this season, was named a first team All-Pro for an incredible 14th time. That’s not a typo: 14!
Rounding out the first team is Casey Powell of the Titans, Minnesota’s Ryan Cousins, who is also the league’s defenseman of the year, and Buffalo’s Mark Steenhuis, the league’s transition player of the year. The second team is populated by Colin Doyle (San Jose), Gavin Prout (Colorado), Jeff Zywicki (San Jose), Geoff Snider (Philadelphia), Scott Self (Chicago) and Matt Vinc (New York).
Coming tomorrow: The NLL’s Most Valuable Player.
