NLL Player Poll: Who Will Win the Champion’s Cup?

Exactly, who will win the Champion’s Cup, right?

In the year of the dawg (and to my Chinese fans, cuz I do know you are out there, I do in fact know that 2008 is The Year of the Rat) it could be anyone’s guess.

So I thought I’d ask the players their guess on who’ll take the cake on Saturday night.

Obviously, by that spiffy image I pieced together, you can see the boys hit the Bandits vote hard, with 71% of the guys going with Buffalo. Not really all that close, huh?

As with their previous two meetings in the post-season, it looks like Portland will be tagged as the heavy dawg, which in 08, might not be such a bad thing.

Anyways, below is what the players had to say about the final game of 2008. I’ll check in with my own personal take tomorrow, so don’t lose any sleep you Tuts-maniacs…

“Straight out-play Portland” on a Bandits win

“The Buffalo meat-heads will be in the box all night.” on a Jax win

“I like the way the Jax are playing but this is the Bandits’ year! They are DUE. JT will hoist the cup and it will be very well deserved.”

“I hope Portland wins, but no chance. Buffalo by 3. Buffalo wins and proves the East is still the best by a long shot.”

“Experience over youth.” Banditos taking it

“F**k Portland!.” That was a derogatory F**k Portland, not “Oh yeah go Portland” type of F**k Portland. So… this dude went with Buffalo

“3rd final in 5 years. Very experienced with depth at every position. This team is very difficult to defeat, especially at home.” another Buffalo win

“Simply put… this is their year!!” Bandits

“I feel Buffalo’s defense is strong enough to contain the size of Portland’s offense.”

“Portland, but that’s a tough barn to pull one out in! Just more of a Portland fan.”

“Merrill. Dawson. RP.”

“Home floor.” Buffalo cuz of the court

“Portland is having a great season, I like the underdog selection. On the other hand, Buffalo has been so strong for years and they are deserving.” Split, but his vote went to the Jax at the end

“Best defense in the league.” Buffalo

“They can and have shut down Dawson. Enough said.” Darris’ crew again

“Hottest team in the league. No one can stop DDD.”

“There is no way Portland can stay on the same field with Buffalo. Portland’s record says it all.”
