Bandits try to “lock” up NLL title

This time of year, the day before a championship game, a lot of teams might split hairs as they analyze their game.

Not the Buffalo Bandits. They’re cutting off those locks. Most of it, anyway. It’s all about team unity as the National Lacrosse League Champion’s Cup game looms Saturday night against the Portland LumberJax, and the Bandits are no different. The count’s up to about 15, the number of Bandits sporting the Mohawk hairdo and that includes head coach Darris Kilgour.  “It definitely takes the edge off a little bit because we kind of laugh when guys get theirs done,” goalie Ken Montour told the Buffalo News. “We’re brothers all winter long, so we should look like brothers.”

So what up with Mark Steenhius? He of the orange kicks and the curly locks poppin’ out from under his bucket? Is that hair comin’ off anytime soon? “I told the boys maybe if we win (Saturday) it could come off,” he said. “They’re on me a little bit, but I always defer it to other topics.”
