NLL party is hoppin’ in Buffalo
Checkin’ in from the barn in Buffalo. It’s barely 7 p.m., the scene is insane and it started long before I got here.

I rolled into Buffalo around 3:30 p.m. and was looking for a lot to park in? And just as I was wondering if I were anywhere close to HSBC Arena for tonight’s National Lacrosse League Champion’s Cup game, I nearly ran over my clue. Orange. Everywhere. It was either a hunter’s clothing convention, a construction vest-wearer’s convention … or a Bandits game. And since I’ve been a regular reader of NLLInsider.com, I knew there was a lacrosse game in town tonight, so I parked my rig and started to hoof it over to the arena.

And like I said: Orange. Everywhere. Even the rust spots on the Chevy Cavalier I walked past were orange. How appropriate, I thought. And I suppose my life is complete now that I’ve seen — in person — those huge foam cowboy hats. Whose idea was that? Would they even admit to it today? Orange wigs, orange faces and, of course, orange shirts. I even saw orange arms and legs, but that guy coulda been a pro wrestler or just got finished at the tanning booth. I didn’t bother to ask.
OK … enough pickin’ on Bandit fan. They’re passionate, no doubt. And in my book, passion can’t be knocked. Bandit fan even held a door open for me and I got plenty of “hello” nods as I wandered the vicinity for a while before coming inside. Speaking of, the crowd’s starting to file in and there’s a healthy vibe in the building as players from both sides run their drills. I’ll be back in a bit to start keepin’ track of the game.
