PoCo sends hold-out Moore to Coquitlam

The Port Coquitlam Saints have worked out a trade deadline deal to send Jr. A hold-out and current Jr. B star Trevor Moore across town to the Coquitlam Adanacs in exchange for right-handed forward Ryan Kwasnica.
“To get a player of Ryan’s ability near the end of the trade deadline is a great thing,” said head coach Karl Christiansen. “We have seen him in games this year where he just was under-utilized and not given the opportunity to do what he does so well and that is score goals. Ryan has another year of Junior A lacrosse remaining and this was not only a trade for this year but a trade for the future for us. We look forward to Ryan joining the team this week and preparing for a long playoff run.”
This deal marks the resolution of an awkward hold-out situation with Moore and provides Kwasnica with an opportunity at increased playing time. This is, however, a sad day for anyone who has ever listened to Jr. Adanacs colour commentator Tyler Kwasnica call his younger brother’s goals. The Coquitlam Adanacs currently sit in second place, just behind the Victoria Shamrocks, while the Saints look like they will earn a fifth place finish this season. The two teams face off Friday in PoCo.
