CLA Power Rankings : Week 7

Wth the World Under 19 field lacrosse championships taking place in BC it will make for another quiet weekend in the WLA with only 4 games coming up this week. On the other hand the Ontario Major League will play 8 games this week. What happended last week? No surprises in the West. In the East Brampton asserted their dominance by winning three games including a 13-10 victory over St. Regis. The Excelsiors next big test will be in Peterborough this Thursday. The Lakers look more like the defending Mann Cup champs now than the last time the two teams met when the Lakers were without John Grant, Shawn Evans and Pat O’Toole. Surprisingly the revamped Lakers were upset last week by the Brooklin Redmen who also defeated St Regis for their 2nd victory of the week. Previous to that the Redmen had lost 5 in a row but suddenly have risen from the dead to get back in the playoff hunt.
The big game of this week will be the Brampton Excelsiors at Peterborough Lakers on Thursday. My predictions have been pretty good of late so lets see if the my roll will continue. I’ll take Peterborough to beat the Excelsiors this Thursday in the Eastern Championship preview.

Lost their 5th consecutive game (14-9 against Kitchener) and then just as we were writing off the Redman they came up with two huge victories against the Peterborogh Lakers and St. Regis Indians. Have three games this week including two against the Barrie Lakeshores that could very likely determine a playoff spot. |
