CLA Power Rankings : Week 9

senioraranks.jpg

The regular season is done in the East and even though there is still one week left in the WLA the only thing to be determined is who will take third place, Victoria or Burnaby. In the East, only Barrie is out while Brampton and Peterborough have earned first round byes.  Although I do think that Brampton has the best team in the country and now that Peterborough has all their guns back they have a good chance to three-peat as Mann Cup Champs I still can not deny that the New Westminster Salmonbellies have earned the right to remain atop the Power Rankings. Heading into last week I thought I might be making the switch between Brampton and New West but after the Salmonbellies dominant week (15-4 and 15-6 wins) they’re staying at the top - for now. Of course the playoffs are the real season so regular season standings and Power Rankings won’t mean a thing if you can’t win the big games in the post season. That will be fresh on the minds of the Salmonbellies who were swept in the WLA finals last year after finishing the regular season 15-2-1.
