The Brooklin Redmen grabbed the lead in the first three minutes of last night’s game and didn’t let go until they’d successfully swept the K-W Kodiaks three games to none, game three ending with a 9-5 Redmen win. Shawn Williams added another eight points to his playoff totals, scoring three and helping out on five, and Derek Hopcroft added two goals and two assists. Mike Miron earned the win in net. For the Kodiaks—who were missing Kasey Beirnes, Jamie Rooney and Rob MarshallRyan Benesch led with two goals and two assists. It remains to be seen who Brooklin will face in the semi-finals. Should St. Regis down the Chiefs, Brooklin will go up against Brampton, however if the Chiefs bounce back to take the series, Brooklin will draw Peterborough.

The Six Nations Chiefs will be fighting off elimination today at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena at 2:00 PM EST after dropping last night’s decision 9-7 to the St. Regis Indians to go down in the series 2-1. Mark Steenhuis had six points (3g 3a) and John Tavares added three (1g 2a) for the Indians, who got another big game out of Mike Thompson. Down 7-6 after the second, Thompson posted a shut-out third period while the Indians grabbed the comeback win, scoring three in the third—one each from Tavares, Pat Maddalena, and Steve Toll. Rob Van Beek assisted on two of the pivotal third period goals.
