Peterborough and Brampton both up 3-0 in semi-finals

The Peterborough Lakers took a three games-to-none lead in their semi-final best of seven last night, more than doubling up on the St. Regis Indians 13-6.

Pat O’Toole made 41 saves for the winners while at the other end of the floor Scott Evans scored three and assisted on two, John Grant had one and four, and Josh Gillam had one and three. For the Indians, Mark Steenhuis had four goals and one assist and John Tavares helped out on three. The Indians will be fighting off elimination Saturday night in St. Regis at 7:00 pm.

On Wednesday night in Brooklin Colin Doyle took a feed from Josh Sanderson to score the game-winner with two seconds left to put the Brampton Excelsiors ahead in their series 3-0 with a 9-8 win. Doyle had three goals and four assists on the night, Dan Dawson had one and five, Sanderson one and three and Blaine Manning scored a hat-trick for the Excelsiors. For the Redmen, Jason Mainer had two goals and three assists and rookie of the year co-winner Derek Hopcroft had one goal and three helpers. The Redmen take to the floor tonight to fight for their playoff lives, 8:30 pm in Brooklin.
