The Money Ballers: JR A Playoffs Edition
Fact: During the second half of the playoffs, Cody Jamieson’s numbers have gone down substantially. Seriously.
Proof? Over Cody’s first eight games in the post-season, the OLA MVP was averaging an insane six-&-a-half points per outing. Since then, aka the next six, Jamieson’s points per game average has dropped to just two points per, but the crazy thing is, his stick still finds it’s way on the heaviest goals of most games, allowing him to keep killing the charts in The Money Ballers.
The best thing for the Arrows, now that they’re not relying on Cody to do like 90% of their scoring, they’re actually playing pretty damn good ball again. Just like we’re seein’ in Burnaby, who’ve given BCJALL MVP Alex Gajic a breather, the Lakers are playing some of the best lacrosse they’ve played all year.
Both team’s O are lookin’ sharper and more spread-out, and coincidentally (or not coincidentally, depending on how you’re lookin’ at this), they’re collecting more W’s than ever before too.
During that initial eight game stretch for the Nations, the boys in orange were holding down a pretty mediocre 4-4 record, and at the time, were on the verge of getting dumped by St. Kitts in the semis. Over the last six, when Jamieson’s not been required to do almost everything, the Nations are 4-2, obviously currently duking it out with the Northmen in the OLA final, something that looked totally outta the question at the start of that A’s series.
Like I mentioned before though, the best part about Jamieson is that he still manages to come up big when needed, no matter what the rest of his stats look like (not that they’re bad in the least, just down from the regular season or start of the post-season). Ditto for Gajic.
Anyways, Jamieson’s numbers may have dropped below his previous 6.5 per, but his Money Ballersnumbers continue to sky rocket through the roof. Jamieson, as usual, owns the top spot this week with a commanding nine point lead. And damn is Randy Staats clutch as all hell too. The kids not even technically a junior baller, but got the call up for the year as a ‘92!!! How good is this guy gonna be with like three or four more years under his belt? Same with Casey Jackson out in Victoria, who gave Jr. A fans a taste of what they’re gonna get from him next summer. 23 points in eight starts for the big boys as a intermediate call-up… nasty stuff.
Here are this week’s top clutch ball players, with Alberta boys included since a couple of them cracked the main-board…
