Anthony Cosmo for Matt Roik trade made official via press release

The San Jose Stealth have officially announced the deal involving All-Star keeper Anthony Cosmo that NLL Insider had reported late last night, with one minor correction.
Instead of gaining both a first rounder in 2008 and 2009, the Stealth are reporting via a press release that they have only obtained Chicago’s first round pick this year, along with goaltender Matt Roik of course.
The press release also strangely identifies Roik as being a rookie last season with the Chicago Shamrox, the third overall draft selection in fact. Roik has been a long time vet of the NLL, playing for such teams as the New Jersey Storm, the Anaheim Storm, the Philadelphia Wings and of course most recently with the Chicago Shamrox.
The current New Westminster Salmonbellies keeper of the WLA, not the WLL as the release indicates, was drafted all the way back in the 1999 Entry Draft by the Toronto Rock and coincidentally was a member of the Stealth for a short time during the 2005 off-season.
NLL Insider spoke to several sources close to the Stealth organization today and all feel that the franchise will likely be dealing one of their other two remaining keepers, Aaron Bold or Tyler Richards.
With a number of clubs in the league holding onto starting keepers that are close to the end of their careers, many feel the Stealth, as they have in previous years, will have much interest in their two pro keeper prospects. Both Bold and Richards are considered by many to be pro calibre starting keepers in the league.
The Stealth press release had only a single quote from the team, with San Jose President and GM Johnny Mouradian saying, “We are really happy with both deals.”
The Stealth also confirmed the Paul Dawson for Peter Veltman trade that NLL Insider first broke early this morning.
The Boston Blazers GM and Head Coach, Tom Ryan, who acquired Dawson in last night’s deal, says, “We are excited to have Paul Dawson join the Blazers. He adds size and toughness to our team, and at only 22, Paul has a tremendous upside. He is a true gentleman, but early in his career, he has developed a reputation as someone you do not want to mess with on the floor.”
