Source: Legend Gary Gait’s rights traded to Rochester Knighthawks

NLL Insider has learned from several sources that the Rochester Knighthawks and Colorado Mammoth are either extremely close to finalizing a deal, or potentially just finalized a trade earlier this afternoon, that would see Gary Gait’s playing rights dealt to the Knighthawks.
It’s also expected that Gait would indeed play for Rochester during the 2009 season.
Sources close to the situation tell NLL Insider that in exchange for Gait, Rochester would likely have dealt a player, plus potentially two high round picks over the next couple seasons.
Gait, who is apparently in phenomenal shape since retiring from the game in 2005 as a player, would continue coaching Syracuse University’s women’s lacrosse team while also contributing to Rochester’s 2009 campaign.
