NLL Insider Top 50: Brian Langtry #38

There’s few that can turn up the heat like Colorado Mammoth forward Brian Langtry.
Just ask the Portland Lumberjax, who almost found their name in the record book when Langtry posted nine goals and 13 points against them last winter.
In 2007, Langtry damaged Toronto for five goals, the same team he nailed for seven earlier in this career in one of the single best one game performances from downtown this league has ever seen.
When “on”, few can shoot the lights out like the former NLL rookie of the year, who just came off an insane summer playing for the Denver Outlaws in the MLL.
The sometimes abrasive Mammoth fan fave, who doesn’t usually mince his words on or off the floor, had a solid 2008, again breaking the 30 goal plateau and leaving his career stats numbers with one of his highest ever scoring seasons. Actually, his 4.5 points per game last winter were the best of his seven year career and had Langtry not been on the shelf due to injury for part of the year, there’s no doubt he woulda busted open his single season grand totals too.
Langtry followed up his impressive year with the Mammoth with one helluva run with the Outlaws, finishing tied for third in league scoring while helping guide Denver to the finals against Rochester.
Not too shabby for a guy the old New York Saints franchise basically let rot on the sidelines when Langtry first entered the league in 2000. At least that was NY’s only mistake, right (note the sarcasm)?
After back-to-back solid winter and summer seasons, the prospects of what Langtry will serve up this year has gotta have Mammoth fans droolin’ as they look to get back to the top of the Western heap.
