Tracey Kelusky: man of his word
Think back to some of the things you said seven or eight years ago. How many people here could honestly say that they’ve lived up to a promise they made way back when? I know I couldn’t (Didn’t marry the drummer from Hanson.) But Tracey Kelusky, come on down:
“No matter what happens to the league,” says Montreal captain and forward Tracey Kelusky, “we’ll always be willing to have a beer with our fans.”
That quote comes from a Sports Illustrated article that was published December 10, 2001. A story of a lacrosse league that features frantic six-on-six action, violent checking, exhilarating breakaways, the odd brawl, high scoring, and low salaries. It may sound familiar, but the league has certainly exploded since the days of the Montreal Express. The article even features a Jim Jennings saying that he hopes the league will expand to markets like Chicago.
The more things change, the more they stay the same, and what that means for fans is that you can still go have a beer with TK and co.
