NLL Insider Top 50: Jordan Hall #30

He mighta been inched out by Craig Point in last year’s rookie of the year vote, but there’s no denying over the past year that New York Titan’s two-way stud Jordan Hall has had a major impact on the game, hardware or not.

As former Titans coach Adam Mueller told NLL Insider’s own Steve Kojima during his rookie coverage last winter, Hall rarely has as a bad shift, no matter what end of the court he’s working in.

Paul Stewart, assistant coach on Mueller’s award winning staff last winter, told NLL Insider prior to last year’s ROY announcement, “I just can’t see how it couldn’t be Jordan. He’s got better overall numbers than any rookie this year, plus he’s all over the floor, not just O or D. No other rookie came close to what Jordan did for us this year.”

Hall led all rookies last year in assists, looseballs and total points and finished top 20, in some cases top 10, in a lot of overall league stats too.

His play was instrumental in the Titan’s huge second half jolt up the rankings last winter and the reputation he had in both junior and college ball followed him into the pro game as one of the hardest working guys around. There is absolutely zero quit in Hall no matter if his team is up ten or down 20.

Hall continued his solid play in 2008 by winning an MLL title with the Rochester Rattlers, averaging over three points a game for the New West Bellies during the regular season while flying cross country to see time in the WLA & MLL, helping push New West past Coquitlam in the West final, and then going up against the best team in the country versus Brampton in the Mann Cup. Apparently Jordan slept and had a couple naps somewhere in there too.

Hall was also recently voted as the sophomore most likely to succeed in a recent poll on the site and don’t be surprised to see Hall’s short man numbers go up playing for Ed Comeau this upcoming winter either. Hall’s style of ball and Comeau’s approach to the game should mesh well as New York comes into 2009 looking to show that their outta left field success last winter was far from a fluke.
