NLL Insider has learned that Rochester Knighthawks defender, Luke Forget, has been dealt to the Portland Lumberjax, with a second round pick going the other way.

Forget, who actually spent the 2006 season with Portland after being selected in that year’s Expansion Draft, has already won two Champion’s Cup titles during his four year pro career, one with the Toronto Rock during his rookie season and then again, with the Hawks, during their most recent Cup success.

Rochester also moved recently signed defender, Marshall Abrams, to the team’s hold-out list.

In other news, The Edmonton Rush released vet keeper Curtis Palidwor earlier today, with the team still holding onto three goalies in camp; Steve Dietrich, Chris Levis and Brandon Atherton.

Palidwor, who has appeared in 134 consecutive games in the NLL since his rookie year in Columbus, spent last season splitting time with Matt Disher and Matt King in Edmonton.

The Edmonton Sun had earlier reported that Palidwor had requested a trade and hadn’t participated in the Rush’s training camp up to that point.

Although a trade evidently couldn’t be worked out, releasing the former Champion’s Cup MVP allows him to seek employment as a free agent, opening the doors a bit for Palidwor heading into the season.

Rush GM and Head Coach, Bob Hamley, told the paper, in regards to his remaining three tenders, “The one thing I was looking for was consistency and all three of these guys will go through the trenches for you.”

Hamley also noted that Dietrich will likely be the Rush’s starter when they open the season against Calgary next month.
