Calgary’s Ranger gets schooled, plus the links

When his Calgary teammates are working during the week, Scott Ranger is in a classroom at Vancouver Island University, where, according to the Calgary Sun, he’s in the middle of his first year of undergraduate studies. Ranger, 25, decided to head back to school after a few years off and is focusing on physical education at the Nanaimo, B.C. school. He seems to be coping well with long nights and lotsa studying — he’s put up 3G, 11A so far. Tonight, he and the undefeated Riggers (4-0) host Minnesota (2-1) in a battle for Western Conference supremacy.
