National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week: Vanessa

Hey LumberJax fans! Like what you see during stoppage at your games? Like the way that dance team moves on the floor? Well, it’s all by design, of course, and if there’s one member of that team that knows design, it’s Vanessa. Sure, she’s the newest National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week, but she’s also a graphic designer for Real Solutions Marketing by day. And even though it’s two different worlds of design … dance and graphic … she’s got a good handle on both.

Vanessa is in her first season with the Portland crew, but that doesn’t mean she’s a stranger to dance. While doing her studies at Oregon State in Corvallis, Vanessa was a dancer and cheerleader at the school and it’s that passion for activity that led her to try out for the LumberJax dance squad. “I love being part of a team,” Vanessa told NLL.com. “Through dance I am also able to let my creative side show a lot. I also really like lacrosse. It’s growing so fast and it’s such a fun game.”

Over at her profile on the Portland Web site, Vanessa lets us in on a few secrets in her life. Like, how she can’t live without chocolate, how her hobbies include long walks and scrap books, and her favorite TV show is The Family Guy. She’s also got a twin sister, but we get no more detail than that. Probably a good thing, considering how NLL fans can be a bit scary. Kidding!

Still, Nessa, as she’s called, says she’s a charasmatic kind of woman and there’s no doubt that charisma would be a fine display were she ever able to share a dinner with the three random people she named as her fantasy dinner guests: Barack Obama, Jennifer Aniston and P. Diddy. If that’s not mixing it up, what is?
