Whose house? Steenhuis is your National Lacrosse League Player of the Week

So what’s the big deal? He broke a record, that’s all. Thing is, if you were able to witness the game of Mark Steenhuis last weekend, you understand exactly why this fella is this week’s National Lacrosse League Player of the Week. Steenhuis absolutely ripped it up in Buffalo’s 25-10 win over Toronto. Dude scored four goals, but his 13 assists broke Derek Malawky’s single-game record of 11, while his 17 total points broke John Grant Jr.’s record of 15. Well done, kid. Boston goalie Anthony Cosmo was named Defensive Player of the Week in making 33 saves in an 8-4 win over Philadelphia while teammate Jason Bloom was named Transition Player of the Week with three goals and one assist. Rookie of the Week goes to Colorado’s Tyler Crompton, who scored 2 goals, scooped 3 loosies and won 3 of 6 faceoffs in a win over Calgary.
