The name talked about most behind the scenes today, Steve Dietrich, has in fact been moved to the Toronto Rock.

The National Lacrosse League has officially posted on their transaction page that Dietrich has been dealt to Toronto for the Rock’s second round pick in the 2009 entry draft.

Rush GM and Head Coach, Bob Hamley, has also moved Andrew Biers to the San Jose Stealth for a first round pick in this year’s draft. Currently, the only first round pick the Stealth own in 2009 would be the one they received in the Matt Roik trade. With that pick technically belonging to the folded Chicago Shamrox, it will remain the last pick of the first round no matter where the Stealth finish this season.

This will be Biers’ second stint with the Stealth after spending the 2004 season with the franchise.

And in one of today’s more high profile moves during a very quiet trade deadline day in the NLL, the New York Titans have traded former rookie standout, Jamie Rooney, to the Rochester Knighthawks for transition player Bill Greer.
