NLL Trade Deadline: Shaydon Santos close to re-signing with San Jose Stealth

Former San Jose captain Shaydon Santos re-signs with the Stealth.
NLL Insider has learned that the San Jose Stealth are close to re-signing free agent defender and former team captain, Shaydon Santos, to a deal that could have Santos back in the Stealth lineup as early as this weekend when San Jose hosts the Edmonton Rush on Saturday night at the HP Pavilion.
Santos was unable to commit to the Stealth earlier this year due to establishing the Box Lacrosse Academy, a program that showcases ‘real’ youth box lacrosse in California through leagues, clinics and tournaments.
The NLL free agent signing deadline normally cuts off two days after the trade deadline.
NLL Insider has also confirmed that the Stealth should be getting back injured two-way stud Steve Holmes and pure defender Travis Gillespie in the near future.
Update: The re-signing of Santos has been confirmed by the league. The team has also released Ryan Marshall, Jim Borell and Will Dalton to accommodate today’s roster moves.
