The Money Ballers: Week 13
He may be ranked 50th in regular league scoring, but Gary Gait has once again landed on The Money Ballers leaderboard coming outta Week 13.
The “old man” might be playing selective minutes, missing games to coach the lady Orange and doing a ton of his scoring on the power-play, but even though Gait isn’t scoring in bunches, he’s definitely been score some super important goals for the Knighthawks.
Of all the guys currently on the clutch leaderboard, Gait’s 15 combined goals and assists are by far the fewest total getting a guy on the Top 15ish. In fact, most guys just on the outside of the leaderboard have needed more combined points to rank as high as they currently are. What does that mean? Although Gary is scoring fewer goals than a lot of this year’s top offensive guys, the ones he is burying mean a helluva lot.
Other guys who are scoring less on the regular season rundown but doing really well in The Money Ballers? Drew Westervelt, Cory Conway and even Merrick Thomson are all outside of the league’s Top 20, but find themselves as clutch chart toppers below. Kasey Beirnes, who is just a couple points out of being included on the breakdown below, actually only has 14 goals and assists that register on The Money Ballers and sits 54th in league scoring, topping even Gait’s impressive performance in clutch showings this winter. Ditto for the Blazers’ duo of Gary Bining and Matt Lyons.
Below, check out the rest of the leaderboard. With only three weeks of regular season ball to go, will anyone catch Mark Steenhuis or Dan Dawson? Will anyone match the 51.5 clutch points Athan Iannucci won this thing with in ‘08?
