National Lacrosse League showcase in Oz, not so fast, plus the links

NLL Australian All-Star Series? Not so fast dude.
There’s been a whole lotta buzz over the last 24 hours in regards to a National Lacrosse League All-Star Series slated to go down next fall in South Melbourne, Australia.
Although the event sounds like it could be a record setting blast in Oz, league contacts NLL Insider spoke to earlier today say, that although there has been communication between themselves and the event’s organizers, nothing has been signed or confirmed as of today, and reports of the series taking place appear to be a bit premature.
Box lacrosse has grown tremendously in Australia since the country first competed in the inaugural World Indoor Lacrosse Championship held throughout Ontario during the summer of 2003, a tournament the competing Australian team garnered zero support for from Lacrosse Australia.
Since then, times and attitudes have changed in Australia when in comes to indoor ball, including the 2007 WILC team being reconized and supported by the country’s governing body, as well the popularity of various leagues and indoor tournaments within the country/continent.
Stay tuned to NLL Insider for more on this potential showcase and more on box lacrosse in Australia.
