Shamrocks plotting the demise of the Salmonbellies, plus some summer ball links

For all those Brampton Excelsiors fans wondering where a few of the key players from last year’s Mann Cup championship have gone, they’ll have to look way out West where defender Ian Llord and transition player Jeff Shattler are now suiting up for the re-stocked Victoria Shamrocks.
As Travis Paterson of the Victoria News notes, aside from their obvious playing skills, Llord and Shattler bring some important experience to the team: they beat the 2008 Salmonbellies.
“Let’s face it, everybody is gunning for New West,” said Shamrocks General Manager Chris Welch. “When you look at their team, you see a team that is very big, very young, skilled, fast, with great systems, and you’ve got to do something to counter the size and toughness of their defence.”
Victoria will get their first crack at the Salmonbellies tonight in New Westminster, 7:45 PM.
