A rundown of today’s British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta junior lacrosse action

Two out West and one each in Alberta and Ontario in ‘A’ ball, while Ontario Jr. B lacrosse will get busy with seven games starting at 4:00 PM.

B.C. Junior A

New Westminster Salmonbellies at Victoria Shamrocks, 5:00 PM, Bear Mountain Arena

The second-place Shamrocks play host to the third-place Salmonbellies as Lumberjax Matt Yager will look to keep up his high-scoring ways for Victoria, with 40 points so far this season. Eric Lewthwaite leads the Salmonbellies who are hoping to cut down on the 4-point difference in the standings between them and the ‘Rocks.

Langley Thunder at Delta Islanders, 7:30 PM, Ladner Arena

Looking for a little respect, the last place Thunder will be relying on Mitch Dibblee and Scott Davidson to get the job done versus Delta goaltender Blake Duncan. The Langley D will need to shut down Jason Jones, Drew Duncan and tough guy Carlton Schuss.

Ontario Jr. A

Burlington Chiefs at Akwesasne Indians, 8:00 PM, Akwarnaro Arena

Just one game in Ontario Jr. A tonight as one of the top teams in the league the Burlington Chiefs (4-1) will make the trek to Akwesasne to face the 1-5 Indians. Goaltender Gary Muzzin will backstop the Chiefs while out in front it will be Ryan Learn and Kiel Matisz making life tough for the highly-rated Justin Delormier.

Alberta Jr. A

Edmonton Miners at Calgary Mountaineers

It’s the third place Miners vs. the fourth place Mountaineers as last year’s Minto contenders are now toiling at the bottom of the four-team standings. Spencer Lorenz will look to lead the Miners as Tyler Melnyk will do his damnedest to counter for the Mounties.

Ontario Jr. B

Orillia Rama-Hammond Kings (2-9-1) at Cornwall Celtics (5-5-1), 4:00 PM
Kahnawake Hunters (3-8-2) at Clarington Green Gaels (11-0), 7:00 PM
Newmarket Saints (9-2) at Gloucester Griffins (6-4), 7:00 PM
Owen Sound NorthStars (6-7) at London Blue Devils (3-9), 7:00 PM
Windsor AKO Fratmen (9-1) at Welland Warlords (7-4-1), 7:00 PM
Mississauga Tomahawks (1-11) at Halton Hills Bulldogs (8-1-1), 7:30 PM
Wallaceburg Red Devils (3-8-1) at Niagara Thunderhawks (1-10), 8:00 PM
