What’s on schedule for senior summer ball tonight

With five games on the docket this evening here’s a quick look at who’s visiting who and some of the marquee National Lacrosse League players that will be suiting up for summer ball battle.
For those of you out there who are new to this year-round lacrosse fandom, be sure to take a peek back at Steve Kojima’s excellent explanation of how the different levels of the CLA work.
Western Lacrosse Association
New Westminster Salmonbellies at Nanaimo Timbermen, 7:00 PM, Frank Crane Arena
The now second-place Salmonbellies will be looking to bounce back from being dumped by the Victoria Shamrocks Wednesday night. Now 2-1, Jordan Hall and a pair of the Gajic brothers in Nenad and Ilija will be looking to give the San Jose goaltending duo of Matt Roik and Tyler Richards a bit of breathing room with their high-powered offense.
For the Timbermen, Calgary Roughnecks Scott Ranger, Kaleb Toth and Cayle Ratcliff will look to counter any damage the Bellies can do while Riggers backstopper Matt King will hold down the defensive end. Nanaimo so far has one loss and one tie.
Maple Ridge Burrards at Coquitlam Adanacs, 7:45, Coquitlam Rink
Currently tied for second-place, Maple Ridge will look to gain a little ground on New West when Lumberjax Derek Lowe and Tyler Codron roll into Coquitlam to face Dane Dobbie, Daryl Veltman, Gary Bining and Andrew McBride. Coquitlam will be looking to improve to .500 after dropping a pair to New West and Burnaby. Their lone win has come against Langley.
Major Series Lacrosse
St. Regis Indians at Barrie Lakeshores, 7:00 PM, Holly RC
John Tavares and Mark Steenhuis along with a plethora of their Bandits teammates will travel to Barrie to take on a line-up that has been severely depleted by an apparently insatiable desire by many of their former players to suit up for the Owen Sound Sr. B Woodsmen. Left to hold down the fort for the Lakeshores are young Rock products Jeff Gilbert and Tommy Hurley.
KW Kodiaks at Peterborough Lakers, 7:00 PM, Memorial Arena
Kasey Beirnes, Ryan Benesch, Jamie Rooney and Rob Marshall will be looking for their second win tonight as they visit the always All-Star laden Lakers. Currently tearing it up for Peterborough is Philly’s Mat Giles with six points in one game, Shawn Evans, Dan Carey and Ryan Sharp.
Brampton Excelsiors at Six Nations Chiefs, 7:00, ILA
Excelsiors will be bringing the offensive threats of Dan Teat, Josh Sanderson, Colin Doyle and National Lacrosse League MVP Dan Dawson to Six Nations while the Merrill brothers Brodie and Patrick will be patrolling the other end. The Excelsiors currently boast what could be the toughest ‘tending tandem in the league in Anthony Cosmo and Pat Campbell.
The reason I say could be is that their opponents tonight have both Ken Montour and Matt Vinc. The Chiefs also have NLL Defender of the Year Billy Dee Smith, Craig Point, Thomas Montour and Craig Conn.
