NLL Insider has learned from numerous sources that the Edmonton Rush are close to finalizing their coaching staff, days after the franchise officially announced Derek Keenan as the team’s new GM and head coach.

Sources say joining Keenan will be Jeremy Tallevi and Todd Lorenz, an official announcement from the team expected shortly.

Tallevi, who currently coaches the K-W Braves in the OLA’s Jr. A loop, had previously spent time as Keenan’s assistant in Anaheim and then later Portland, prior to the Lumberjax reshuffling their coaching staff in order to make it more western heavy via the hiring of Dallas Eliuk and Kevin Alexander.

Meanwhile, Lorenz, probably most recognized by NLL fans as a pro referee, actually has a lengthy and immensely impressive resume as both player and coach, closely tied to the New Westminster Salmonbellies franchise during a successful playing career with the Sr. Bellies throughout the 80’s and 90’s.

Now based in the St. Albert, Alberta area, Lorenz is a multiple Mann Cup winner and Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Famer, widely respected in the Alberta lacrosse scene, also currently serving as a co-coach with the Edmonton Miners (Jr. A) alongside former Rush coach, AJ Johma.
