MLL: Toronto Quiets Record Crowd
A crowd of more than 7,600 attended the Toronto-Long Island MLL game on Saturday night on Long Island. But if they came to see a victory by the home team, they left disappointed.
Joe Walters had four goals and two assists as the Nationals won, 19-9. Combined with his performance in the MLL All-Star game on Thursday night in Denver, Walters scored seven goals in three days.
Meantime, goalies Doc Schneider and Brett Queener combined for 15 saves — each played a half — and Geoff Snider added 17 groundballs.
The Nationals (5-5) have two games left; both are at home. They face Boston on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. and play Denver on Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.
