Lacrosse Links: Toronto wins MLL Championship

Behind 23 saves from the double-headed goaltending duo of Doc Schneider and Brett Queener, who played with an injured right hand, the Toronto Nationals beat the Denver Outlaws 10-9 for the MLL Championship yesterday in Annapolis, Md.

It was a tight slugfest that came down to the last minute, when Shawn Williams took a feed from Joe Walters and buried it past Denver goalie Jesse Schwartzman for the game winner.

In other news, Brampton took down Peterborough last night, 14-9, despite three goals and one assist from John Grant, Jr., who hopped on a flight back to town immediately following the MLL game in Annapolis. Brampton leads the MSL final 3-1, with game 5 coming tonight.
