Only 10 Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) Mann Cup national championships have gone the distance since 1951. Three of the last four seven-game series have involved the Brampton Excelsiors.

In 1999, for only the third time in the Mann Cup’s storied history, co-MVPs were named as the legendary Gait Brothers led their hometown Victoria Shamrocks to a championship at the old Memorial Arena.
