NLL Girl of the Week: Corina

It’s that time of week, fans, to take a look at the latest National Lacrosse League Girl of the Week. And this week, it’s Corina of the Rochester Knightingales. Now as we explained last week, this is a bit of a bonus installment of this popular ongoing series and even though Corina was named the NLL’s Girl of the Week back in May of this year, we held on for a bit to start this offseason tournament because we know you were all busy following OLA and WLA ball along with all the junior ball. So now that all the ball is done for the time being, it’s time to get back to this with a vengeance.

Corina’s been a mainstay of the Knightingales for some time now. She first joined the dance team back in 2000 and since 2002, she’s been the team director and that keeps her plenty busy. Still, she juggles the responsibility of coordinating everyting the Knightingales do with her full-time job as an interior designer. She’s got a B.S. in Interior Design and a Mechanical Technology Associates degree, so she definitely knows what’s up when it comes to making the interior of any building sparkle.
She told NLL.com that while she didn’t quite know what to expect when she first game out for the dance team back in 2000, her relationship with the game and its fans has been nothing short of incredible. “I have seen amazing players and watching them grow with the team has been a great experience,” she said. “I would have to say that John Grant and Gary Gait are my favorite players,” said Corina. “I just can’t believe some of the plays these guys make… and the fans are dedicated, especially the KREW. Shout-out to Knabber and Jen!”
When she’s not designing or dancing, she’s relaxing with family and friends in Rochester. And that can include the simple but pleasant life of firing up the grill and playing cards. Of course, being named Girl of the Week has to be somewhat exciting, especially since she’s the one who’s name was drawn from a hat that gives her a first-round bye. Because just five Girls of the Week were named, it had to be someone drawing the short straw for the automatic advancement and once we figure out who wins between Leslie and Karen (where the voting still is open), we’ll see how Corina does in our other bracket between Jennifer (Washington) and Amanda (Buffalo).
