Raising funds in Owen Sound

Believe it or not, the holidays are just around the corner so you know that that means. Cold and snow and yeah, ice skating. Except up in Owen Sound, Ontario, the Junior B Pro Team North Stars are using some fine skaters to get their fund raising efforts on the move. Yeah, it’s an ice-skating ballet and for the fellas who aren’t exactly down with the ballet, think of it this way: You can score some points with the little lady by taking her to an ice ballet while knowing that the coin you put down for tickets is helping out a lacrosse team. Trust us, it’s a win-win situation. Turn the page for details.

The date to circle on your calendar is Saturday, Dec. 5. That’s when the Montreal Ice Ballet brings forth Zigra’s Ice Kingdom at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. The money raised will benefit the Junior B lacrosse team in Owen Sound, along with the Owen Sound Recreation Centre. Members of the Owen Sound Skating Club will be performing too, so if you’re in the area, it’d be a good time to check out the skating skills of someone you might know personally.

For information about tickets and whatever else you need to know, check it out here.

Loose balls: Facebook accounts for some junior teams you might wanna check out include the Gloucester Griffins and the Nepean Knights.
